Total newbie with d80 seeks macro lens

Hi Guys,

Just getting into photograhy and would really like to get into extreme close up insect shots.

I have a nikon d80 and would like to know what lens to go for.

Do i aslo require a flash ring??????

I have been looking at the sigma 105mm and also the sigma 150mm.

In addtion do these lenses allow you to go right up to the subject or do you always have to be a minimum distance away to allow the lens to focus.

How about buying a Raynox adaptor to try out macro before you buy a macro lens?
 
It depends on what you're trying to photograph, for insects and the like I don't think you really want to be up close, especially if the lens extends....SPLAT :nuts:
 
I would look at the nikon 105 vr aswell, I just picked one up and boy am I impressed.
