I went to support my wife and her friends, although none of those photos are in this mix

I got roped into taking a lot of group shots, which i wouldn't mind doing - except that I've a 200mm fixed lens - so it's a bit of a faff

These are good. Your best ones are 2 and 3 in my opinion. I mostly like 3. It's good to capture the fun they're having and still shows the story of them being at the event. I really like the composition in that one too. Good job.
