"Ho Ho Ho and Happy Christmas merry TPers!!!"

OK I know it's still too early for all that, but there is a good reason for starting it now I promise you . . . and it's linked to a VERY worthwhile prize.
Keep reading to find out more . . .

This year, we will be running a TP Christmas card competition to bring a little festive spirit to the forum.
The competition is FREE to enter and is open to ALL TP members. Everyone is welcome to join in no matter what their experience level is or how long they've been here.

Would you like to see your image turned into a card for Christmas?
Well get your thinking caps on, get those cameras out and start getting festive.

RULES

> A thread for submitting entries will be posted to the forum on Monday 18th November and will remain open for members to submit images until midnight on Saturday 30th November. Any images posted after that deadline will be disqualified.
> No more than TWO entries permissible per member. If there are more than two entries for any one member the first two will stay and any later submissions will be disqualified - no negotiation!
> After the thread has closed for entries, a poll for member votes will run from Sunday 1st December until midnight on Saturday 7th December.
> There will be one vote only per member. Please do not vote for your own entry - it's bad manners!
> In the event of a tie, the tied entries will go to a staff vote to choose the winner.

Entries

> Submissions should be cropped to an A5 aspect ratio.
> The main part of the Christmas card design must consist of an image taken by you.
> You are responsible for ensuring that you have the correct usage permissions for any additional elements or embellishments that you add to your image.
> All entries must comply with the usual rules for images on TP.

> No pornography, no swearies and since this is in a public forum area nothing that may require a NSFW tag. . . basically don't submit anything that you wouldn't want your granny to see!
> Other than that there are no restrictions :
> Images from your archives as well as new images taken specifically for the competition are allowed.
> Any amount of PP, compositing, adding of text is fine . . . although simple and elegant has a place here too :)

* Entries not meeting these criteria may be disqualified
* Moderators' decisions in enforcing these rules will be final.

PRIZES

The winning member will receive 50 printed Christmas cards featuring their submitted design so that they can give their friends and family something really personal this year.

The Christmas Cards will be A5 size, either portrait or landscape. They will be printed on a high quality greeting card board, gloss laminated on the outside and supplied with envelopes.
You will also be able to choose your own wording for the inside of the card. For example, "Merry Christmas from the Smith family".

The winner will be required to provide a high resolution image sized to 210 x 148mm (portrait or landscape) at 300ppi resolution, along with the choice of wording for the greeting and a delivery address where someone will be available to sign for them.

* To give you time to write and send your cards before the last Christmas post this information must be provided as soon as possible after the announcement to allow for printing and delivery leadtimes.

The winning card will also be sent to all TP members as part of the December newsletter and will feature on the home page of the forum over the festive season.

As long as he doesn't wheel Mrs Santa out again, frankly I don't care

Sounds like jolly good fun, if I'm moving about by them I'll see what I can do :) and if I'm not I'll still try and submit something :)

Come on Matt, how many 365s have you done? There must be something you can Christmas up even if you can't get out and about.

A little over 900 days worth but the crash killed that one :sulk: I was going to stop at 1000 days, I'm sure I can think of something :D

What , to sit next to the 40 inch canvass of one of the cats I won in a pet competition a few years ago!

  well in that case I'll get a little robin sound speaker to go on the back of the canvas :D so it's real like :D suspect though that would really drive your heard nuts...I'm not quite that cruel :)

Well the canvass is hidden in the back bedroom [ask Nod, he and J had to share space with it earlier this year] and my bloody great big cats are terrified of it!! They stalk round it, even Ella, who it is actually a picture of.

Anyway, really annoyed, we have a kitten...thinking kitten, baubles, etc... and I can't enter :( Might have to teach Yves Geza how to take a proper photo with lights n stuff

Argh yes that kitten, cannot wait to actually be able to see the photos, I'm not a cat guy but who doesn't love a cute kitten :D ... J and a camera, oh dear you'll be able to get him to enter the 2014 version ;)

What Issue you got with Robins or dare I ask ;)

Hate them. Boring, tedious and a lot of shots of them are crap but get the old 'Ohhhhh, that's make a lovely Xmas card," routine:puke:Not so!!!!

Plus Rich likes em and that's enough reason for me to loathe them, along with Mallard Ducks and Mute Swans. Mince!!!!;)

A few entries already posted. All very different so far. Good luck to all that enter

Awww, I totally missed this until last night. Got nothing to take photos of quickly :(
Will vote though. And hope it's ran again next year :)

Some good entries so far.......

Very impressed . . . keep them coming guys.

It seems that a lot of people may not have spotted this in the "competitions, challenges and inspiration forum". . . so after some discussion in the staffroom and checking with the card supplier we've now decided to extend the closing date to next Saturday - 30th November.

No excuse for anyone now. Let's see these entries !!!
