Hi
Could be in the wrong section here
Have just had some B & W images, generated from negative scans, professionally printed using supposed state-of-the art digital printing technology (Lambda printing) having been told by all and sundry that it was the way to go. However, I would say the results are not entirely satisfactory. When compared to my traditonal darkroom prints of the same images and of same enlargements, while the contrasts and tones match up, the resolution definitely does not. I have a fairly good scanner, but it still could be that, but has anyone else, familiar with both technologies (traditional and digital printing) noticed a difference?
Maybe images generated using digital cameras fare better, but the examples of other artists work lying around the printing studio suggested otherwise, for the most part.
