Trading in lenses.

Anyone trade in their unwanted lenses as a part exchange for new ones, is this sort of thing done at camera shops?
Do they generally offer a fair price or is it better to sell private?

I'd especially like to hear of anyone who has used Park cameras for such a thing.

Selling/trading in at a shop will always result in less cash for your items.

I've done it before with London Camera Exchange. Price seemed reasonable but no doubt a private sale would have generated a higher price, however that option didn't suit me at the time.

I've also traded in a camera bag for another camera bag at a different camera shop in London.
