Yes
As the title really - the main line is electrified and there are fairly regular excursions of Steam trains to York or Edinburgh etc.

The only places I know of in the rural Grantham area are from bridges so of course the overhead cables and pylons ruin the photos - does anyone know of any accessible spot that allows for photos to be taken below the power lines?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Newark station, thats where my old Ma goes to watch them. Take no notice of some of the dorks that tell you where to stand, just stay on the carpark side of the line near the cattle market :D

Also worth taking a little trip to the Nene Valley railway near Peterborough, it's not to far :D

Thank you

If you don't mind driving an hour you can try the Great Central Railway in Loughborough, complete with 'period accurate' station. Can't comment on accuracy as I haven't been in a while, but there's plenty of steam there. Other stations in Quorn and a few other I believe.
