Training 1:1

Hi.
I’ve just joined the forum as been out of photography for some time and have taken it up again.
I wondered if anyone had any experience of 1:1 training with Gary Hill at ‘Art of the Portrait’ or would recommend his learning materials? I really like his style of shooting.

Cant help with his courses but 1:1 traning is probably the best way to go. You'l learn more IMHO than a course with a dozen others, although these can be more fun.
A course like this can be taylored to suit the individual and his her level, with a mixed bag of students it has to be more generalised.

I had a look, just out of interest.

His pricing seems fair - but I'd caution you against trying to do whole days 1-1 with any tutor. IME most people are completely fried after half a day or less.
