Transfer speeds from camera buffer to card

I'm thinking of buying a few faster CF cards for use on my Canon 40d's. My question is:

What is the maximum speed that the camera is able to transfer the file from the buffer to the card?

Hi

Sorry can't answer your question directly, but I use a Sandsisk Extreme III card in my 40D and even shooting RAW, I've not experienced the Camera buffering up. (The card is the 30mb/s, which I think is a 200x).

I'm using Ultra II (15mb/s) and it's happening to me all the time. I will buy faster cards but if (say) the camera can only transfer at (say) 40mb/s there's no point in paying for a card that is capable of faster speeds. Although I do suspect the camera can transfer at very fast speeds.
