Transferable Warranties?

A friend of mine is selling a camera which was bought from Panamoz around 6 months ago, and according to her, the warranty is transferable.
I'm not talking about her acting as a "go-between", but she is insisting it can be transferred.
Not according to Panamoz though. It clearly states in their T&C's warranties are :

"Panamoz.com 1 Year Replacement Warranty
i. This warranty program is valid for the original purchaser only. It covers all manufacturer's defects. Here are details on what our warranty does not cover:

AND:

Panamoz.com UK Warranty (2 to 3 Years)

Does anyone know the facts about transferring warranties?
I'm guessing you could get around it by saying it was bought (by the original purchaser) as a gift, but she insists that is not necessary, and it's easily transferred.

Any-one clarify?

I agree, in that I think they should be, and I know some are, but the Panamoz one specifically states they aren't.
It's only because she was about to advertise it for sale with warranty that the conversation between us started.

Best you speak to Nikon then None of their warranties are transferable (common statement on here in the sales forum is "any warranty issues i'll be happy to act as a go between" ) hth mike i don't know of any transferable ones?

I have no need to speak to Nikon as most of my Nikons are older than me. I just think that a warranty against manufacturing defects should apply for its stated time period regardless of owner.

The Panamoz warranty is currently transferable, I have asked them and had it in writing (well email) from them.

Yes, the warranty is transferable. You just need to let us know the new owner's info, and then we will update our records.

I can also confirm that Panamoz do allow warranty transfers, its probably their website is outdated, they probably dont have time to update it due to spending so much time providing an excellent and faultless service

It's not actually for me, but I didn't want her getting into trouble for selling it with warranty if it wasn't possible.
