Transferring Compact Disc to Laptop

Hi

Playcom sell a Sandisk Compact Disk to PCMIA adapter for transferring images. As this will free up a USB port on my laptop does anyone know how this compares speedwise (or anything else for that matter) to using a separate USB card reader.

I think you mean compact flash rather than compact disk

I have a similar adaptor. I found PCMCIA to be reliable - but slow. I now take a small sandisk USB CF reader with me to use with the laptop as it is much faster. So in my experience it works well but takes twice as long

although if it's that slow I might just get a usb splitter
