Transferring settings between D700 > D300

You should be able to that via Nikon Picture Control (import/export to CF card), if I'm not mistaken?

is that just for the picture controls rather than the whole setup settings? I want my D300 set up the same as my D700 so i was wondering of i can copy those control settings across in one file

Only for picture control. I don't think it's possible to copy the entire setup - other than the tedious, manual way.
