I have an Ixus 2 in 2003 (I think), it was great, but sadly lost in one of many house moves - I do still have an S90, which I bought as a small travel camera, as it is genuinely pocketable.

I would not go Fuji just to use the 18-135. I had one for a little while and found it pretty disappointing — nowhere near the IQ of 18-55+55-200 (the combination weighs just 400g more than the 18-135). If going for Fuji, you do also have to choose either IBIS or weather sealing when it comes to camera bodies.
If looking at interchangeable zoom lenses, choose the system based on the lenses available. Personally I'd look at Micro Four Thirds since APS-C super zooms are bulky and, in the case of Fujifilm, underwhelming.

There are plenty of Fujis with both IBIS and weather sealing.

All of which are significantly bulkier/heavier than the unsealed X-S10, so I maintain that for a travel setup you are sort of left with one or the other. Really only mentioned because with Olympus you do not have to make that choice.

To replace my Nikon D200 completely I will prefer sticking with APS-C sensor size.
And yes, I consider the X-S10 to be a good replacement but I hope Nikon releases a Z50ii or Z fc ii with IBIS
For a compact camera I consider 1'' and M4/3 sensors to be the best options.

In terms of a compact machine, I think my preference will go to the Sony RX100vii for its volume/weight, zoom range and customization. I still haven't managed to grab one of these machines to see how it "feels" in my hand. The Canon G1 X MARK III still is my compact alternative (bigger sensor)
As for mirrorless SLRs, I'll wait for Nikon's developments this year to see if a Z50 or Z fc comes with IBIS. Or a D500 replacement in the Z line

My RX100M6 arrived yesterday and is all but identical to its predecessor, the M3 in size and looks. The only real difference I've found (so far) in handling is that the pop-up VF now automatically extends to the "in use" state (with the old pull out bit happening rather than needing to be done manually) and a press down on it automatically retracts it again. I've set mine up to switch on when I pop the VF up and off when I push it back down. That was my only real gripe with the M3 and seems to have been sorted!
