I think this works really well in monochrome.

If it was my shot I would lighten the shadows of the boats to show some of the detail in there and crop about 1/2 of the sky from the top. These are for my own personal preference, of course, and may not please anyone else

This is a real nice shot

I would have composed it differently though - place the boats in the bottom left corner of the shot.

Still a beaut though

Thanks for the constructive comments, I took pic before I became a bit more serious about photography rather than just taking holiday snaps. I should even have taken it from a slightly different angle, as if you look closely there are actually three boats in the picture.
