Tree Fishing

Thanks to Ron who allowed me to lean over his lens for a few shots at this kingfisher, which had chosen to ignore the normal perches in favour of the partial shade of an over-hanging tree.

Given that I only got a speed of 1/160, I was amazed this came out as well as it did. Minor crop.

Canon 50D 500mm F4 + 1.4TC, hand-held. Might get this printed out for my wall.

Fantastic image .......he looks so much better in the Willows than in the "normal" clinical settings.

I've been following some Kingies that prefer to take to the trees .....sometimes as high as 20-30 foot up.
