Hi,

Im after some help here. I wanted to post this on another thread about 'best website' but thought it may get too confusing.

There is a signature image on my website http://www.apophotography.com where my girlfriend is standing in the sea looking out. I have it as a business card etc

Now, my family regularly visits Thailand and can get embroidery done really cheap for business polo shirts and camera straps etc etc etc.

If you look on this site from a local thai restaurant http://www.deethai.co.uk/ there is quite clearly an illustration of an elephant at the top, but its been created using just a few simple lines. However, you can still make out the simple image of an elephant

I want a similar kind of illustration of my signature picture. So if it were embroidered onto polo shirts it would be easily recognised as a girl with a pony tail looking out to sea. Nothing too complicated, just a few simple lines.

Does anyone know how I can do this? or point me in the direction of someone who can?:thinking:

Just as a side point, had you not pointed out that it was an elephant, I would never have seen it. Might want to ensure you don't go too abstract?
 
Some time in photoshop and a good imagination is what you need, so thats me out the question. :lol: You could have a look on google iamges and see some that are the same as your idea, dont copy them but it can give you ideas.

Option 1. Use the pen tool to trace your image

Option 2. Use Illustrators Live Trace on your image or try the pen tool.

Ideally use Illustrator to create a Vector image rather a Raster (jpeg etc).

Hi Im do embroidery for a living and I agree its a great simple logo, unfortunately it would curl at the edges being so dense a design.
you could do with a line drawing to convert into stitches. The guys in Thailand are very skilled and would be able to sort it for you, maybe have a few lines to show the sea too.
