Trip to London

I like the composition of number 3, but the rest just seem like snapshots to me.

It irritates me when someone says this. I would agree that none of the photographs pop out and could use some processing. But what takes a snapshot to the next level?

Feedback could be more constructive rather than just dismissal.

Awfully sorry I have irritated you.

There appears to have been little thought put into the composition of the images, in my opinion. I don't have much more to add.

By the way, you could have given some feedback yourself. It would have been constructive I'm sure.

#3 is the best by far

The rest could all do with some straightening. The colours don't really jump out on them and maybe some contrast and saturation adjustments may be benefit them.

Nice place to take photos though. Being stuck in Tyne and Wear I would love to photograph here.

Thanks for the advice guys, 1st time I had properly been round london as a "tourist"

so took onboard some advice and messed around with 3 images to see what you think

Think the edited photos have really taken the step up. Of the originals it was number 4 for me which I liked, think it was that it conveyed just how busy that part of London is.

I'm not sure that the newer are a significant step forward. Do you have something like Photoshop/Lightroom/Aperture or probably gimp? Images 5 & 6 in the initial batch may be improved by some selective 'Dodge' or lightening rather than blowing some of the detail with an all over brighten.

You may also be able to polarise light from the top coming down and darken the sky a bit, leaving the rest of the image lighter.

Contrast can be a useful setting to play with. You may be able to give more attention by sliding this around.

Rivers, water etc don't look right when the run up hill - I'd suggest you look and consider straightening those that are not flat. It may be a good time to look at the buildings. Some of those lean somewhat unnaturally.

I like to look at comment on pictures, lurking around. Like you, I have a lot to learn and like the help that others have offered me on this forum. Take my advice for what you paid for it and keep learning.
