Anyway, I'm looking at either the Benro Travel Angel A1692TB0 or the MeFoto RoadTrip A1350Q. Seem to be very similar specs (though not surprising given that I believe MeFoto is actually Benro behind the scenes...?) but I read somewhere that the Benro is dust/water resistant. Does anyone know if is this indeed the case? Or did I dream it? The Benro website doesn't seem to mention it (that I can find). And secondly, if it is true, then how about the MeFoto?

You dreamt it.

The only tripods that make any serious claims of water resistance are the costly Gitzo Ocean series, and even they are not fully water proof but have better seals and use rust and corrosion resistant materials so no damage is done before you get a chance to take them apart and clean them properly.

Unless you're thinking about BenBo that have longer upsidedown leg sections that are sealed so you can stand them in shallow water. It's usually not hard to seal the feet of most tripods though, if they're not already, but water will get in around the leg joints.

It's funny, I'm positive I read somewhere about them being sealed in some way :thinking: Ah well...I guess you see what you want to see ;)
