Yes
Done a bit of searching but nothing's came up, does anyone know if there's a tripod collar available for a tamron 70-300vc?

its made of slightly flexible plastic where the focusing system is, and it squeezes just abit too much :(
atleast on the sony version, you might need to go the long arca swiss plate route..

Looking at the design of the lens, it would be unwise to clamp a tripod collar round it.

Thing is, I can't really see how much you would benefit from one. If you clamped it round the area with the distance window then the way these collar are would put the lens support under the focus ring. Hang a camera off the back and you get a rear heavy setup there.

As Paul said, looking at a longer dovetail type plate mounted along the lens axis from the camera would be a better option. Allows you to balance perfectly.

the weight isnt a issue per se, its that the plastic distorts easily, and the focus system is right underneath, and they rub when a collar is on, as it squeezes it :(
