Tripod extention arm

I`m in the process of setting up a macro system and have noticed some guys have an extention arm supporting the camera from their tripods and would like to know where you`ve got them from.

I don't know how other people do it, but I just use the centre column of my tripod (a Manfrotto 055CXPRO3) and angle it down. Like this:

Are you sure it's not just a tripod w/ tilt-able center column? Several manufacturers make them. (Benro, Manfroto, Benbo, Gitzo) , etc etc.
I have a Benro CF with it, it's a very "ok" tripod. I also have a Benbo Classic (it's huge). A Benbo trekker is very versatile tripod for macro, but Benbo's are weird to set up.
Cost of a Trekker is about the same as a boom arm.

But if you have a good tripod and want a boom arm, the Velbon V4 is quite nice.

There are others, but most cost more for less functionality.

You could try a Manfrotto 131DDB, they also do a mirco focus plate called 454. For the cross arm it may be simpler just to get one of the tripods with an articulated arm already mentioned of course!
