Tripod for Macro

have you had a look at the manfrotto 190...its basically a small version of the one you are currently using
 
I use a Gitzo 2227/2228 type with an offset and tiltable centre column. It allows you to get close without having to stick a leg or two into the shrubbery avoiding, in my case, frightening off the creepies.

There's also the (tech-trek) T'pod (00131 latest version is better) just to mention another..


edit: might not be what your after as just looked at the Manfrotto 190...
