Tripod Head

In an attempt to make me life a little easier, I'm looking to replace the pan tilt head on my old Velbon VE3 tripod. The tripod is still serviceable and supports the camera complete with 100 - 400 without any problems. However, it would be nice to have a ball head to mount the camera on. So I've seen this item:

Any thoughts on it, good, bad or indifferent :)

I've got the same model as the one on eBay. It's a solid, heavy piece of kit which supports my 350D & 100- 400L easily, it took me a bit to get used to the trigger type action, but it works very well. You just have to remember to tighten up the little grubscrew on the ballhead (with the supplied allen key) each time you use it, otherwise it all gets a bit loose.

I bought the Manfrotto 322RC2 and it is a big improvement. You can mount the camera so the grip is to the "side" not in-line so gives greater stability - nice!

Just re-read above and that is a rubbish description  but before you buy you should have a look at head I mention.
