What tripod head do people tend to use and like for landscape photography

I currently have a manfotto ball head grip type. But it add weight so thinking just getting the ball head without grip or bad idea??

Ball heads aren't ideal for landscapes. The ideal is probably a geared head such as the Manfrotto 410 but they're not light, even compared to their 322 trigger type ball head. Or cheap! Personally, I went down the CF legs route to save the weight and use a 410 head for landscapes which brings the weight back up a bit. You can always take the head off the tripod to move the weight closer to your own centre of mass to make it easier to carry then screw it back onto the tripod when you get to your chosen shooting spot.

Which CF tripod did u get? So really my grip ball head not really for landscape?? Why's that.
