Tripod Heads.

I read somewhere an a posting whereby some one was asking about Tripods/heads. Another member posted an answer suggesting he buy a Manfrotto "BeFree" tripod and head. The original poster rejected this tripod/head because he said that it was not possible to use a different head on this tripod other than what was supplied. I have looked at the one I have and I see it has a 3/8th screw thread to the top of the tripod where the head screws on.
Does other tripod heads not also have a 3/8th screw on them ?.

most decent tripods use either of the 2 standards, normaly the larger
but befree sounds like marketing bs name, so quite likely you can't change head
