blimey... Now I know at 6ft I am not the tallest of people but I wasn't expecting a tripod to be so much taller than me..proper sturdy too this will be a dream to use bonfire night.
100+ everywhere else I have looked, I got a Amazon Warehouse like new one for £65, purely because it was next day delivery and I knew it would be just box damage if anything(I was correct)
I reckon Amazon have made a little boo boo and are price matching other shops based on the legs only which are £72 on WEX
I have given it a decent test, sturdiest centre column I have known and that was without hanging weight on the column hook. bit of a moot point though as I cannot think of any situation where I will use it with the column fully extended, upside down for ground work maybe but not skyward.
I recently bought a Vanguard tripod and I had to drop the lower legs by two inches after fitting camera and head with center column completely down. I'm six foot and bought the tripod as it has disc type feet, great for me leaving it set-up on tiled kitchen floor, along with normal and spikes. The center column is geared and easy to operate one handed. Wish I bought one sooner for ease of use, this is also rated to 18kgs and rock solid.
Some pics at link and photo of disc feet, which IMO are excellent and not something I have seen on a tripod before. The tripods are currently £99 at Wex and had a RRP of £399 and are still at $599 on Amazon .com
