First post and its a slightly obscure question, any help much appreciated please.

I have a Cullmann CT-200 Tripod and although a bit weighty is ideal for my needs.
The mounting plate on the tripod has a 3/8" bolt that sits in the middle of a plate (approx 2" dia) which has what can best be described as serrations which mesh with the same on the head to stop it twisting.

Could do with a lighter ball head and wondered if anyones knows if the new Cullmann Magnesit or 3020 heads would mesh ok with this design or indeed any other lightweight ball heads from other manufacturers

Can't find any pics of the base of either type of head and hoping might be lucky here

Thanks in anticipation
Rich

The 3/8" thread is standard for head to tripod mounting in the same way as the 1/4" is standard for head to camera. Anything should fit. The Redsnapper ballhead for £50 is a good bet.

Thanks for the reply, ok with the bolt size, but its the aforementioned serrated surface that concerns me.

Hopefully this pic shows what I mean, they are the small teeth around the edge of each part
