Hi All

I'm on the lookout for a tripod, but really don't have a clue what I'm looking for.

Ever since trying my hand at photography 4 years ago, I've only ever had a cheap tripod (sub £40)

Only problem with this, they break easy and when doing long exposure shots, I find that they cause blurring if it's a windy night for example.

first off, do they make tripods that sit solid when set up? If so, do they make lightweight ones?

Makes?

Cheers in advance

Tripods, you can have them:
  • Cheap
  • Lightweight
  • Rock solid
But you only get to choose two from three. Any two, but only two.

There are countless threads already discussing tripod recommendations, search button is top-right.. ..

Secondhand Velbon something-or-other - I'll check the model number later. Cost me £40 from a telescope shop..

I got myself a Manfrotto 190 off of the bay for about £30 a while ago. Nice sturdy tripod and not too heavy!
