Do you have a budget set aside for a tripod or are you just looking at certain tripods?

I'll subscribe to this thread as I'm looking for a beginners tripod too. I would say that the load bearing capacity of those two isn't much - 2Kg for the first and 1.5Kg for the second so I think they'd be more suitable for compact point and shoots.

as I am new to it all small budget upto about 70 I know I aint much but that's my situation at moments thank very much for your reply

got the Manfrotto MKC3-H01 Compact
seem very good quality to me althought new
to photography it still seems to be a well made
bit of kit
