I just bought Giottos recently - http://www.giottos-tripods.co.uk/index.php?page=productpage&cat=49ba5df32b705&product=49ba66bf97a85. It's a fantastic tripod, very stable, you can feel and trust it's reliability just after few times you use it. I had a camlink and MAnfrotto Modo triopd before, but these were nowhere as "pro" and reliable in feel as this one.

Red Snapper tripods generally come with a head and are therefore much cheaper than the others. Folded size, and weight are my main concerns, but I also want a good head, I'm leaning towards the 190X at present.

Any quality tripod should be on your list.
What you actually need to fit to the lens is a quick release plate from a quick release tripod head.
I use Manfrotto, the tripod 055xProB and head 322rc2. This head has the quick release plate included (as do many others).
Here is the plate that will screw onto the collar. This then clips and locks onto the head. http://www.photozo.com/album/showphoto.php?photo=149696
