tripod selection

Ok now I've got my camera and lens sorted (D7100+600mm), i'm in the market for a tripod and gimbal. I'm thinking of the 3 section Manfrotto 057 and a Wimberley mkii mount. I've seen cheaper mounts (Custom Brackets CB Gimbal-LS), that are a lot cheaper and seem to be good quality. If I headed down that path then the cash left over could get me a teleconverter for the 600 ,, comments anybody ...

ok I've got a Manfrotto 057 3 section and a CB Brackets Gimbal arriving later in the week ... I shall report back and let you know how it goes ..

I've just ordered a feisol 3372 .super light and very strong will post update when it arrives but they have great reviews on the web. I've used gitzo for a few years now and i was due an upgrade but the cost is so steep compared to the feisol.
