Hi,

Wondered for a while now how a Camera that can do so knows when a Tripod is mounted.

The next Question is if you have a Tripod ring on the lens and then mounted on the Tripod will the camera also sense that.

The system detects movement, or lack of it, and switches out. Or rather I think, it switches to a very low sensitivity mode, to prevent the feedback loop creating artificial 'movement' occurring that can happen with older non-tripod-sensing systems.

It's not quite the same as switching off though, more like just dipping the clutch in a car at the traffic lights, rather than selecting neutral with the handbrake on.

Tripod collar makes no difference.
