Tripod to take travelling?

Hi guys im new to the forum and i currently have a canon 500d with a 18-55mm is lens and 75-300mm lens. I started off about a month ago to get myself to grips with a dslr as its my first ever, as i wanted to take some pictures of my travels(Australia, New zealand, indonesia, thailand and vietnam) when i finish uni at the end of May. Imve just discovered the amazing world of HDR and have to say is wow! Im currently saving to buy two new lenses which are canon 10-22mm and the 15-85mm usm is for a walk about lens. I know that with HDR you need to have still photo's and they say use a tripod. But I dont know much in this field so i would like some advice on a suitable tripod that will hold the above two lenses, but must be light, compact and doesnt cost a fortune.

You can have lightweight, sturdy and/or cheap, but not all three so pick the two that matter most and that'll help narrow your choice down a bit.....

well i would rather have lightweight and sturdy as i'll just look to it as an investment :p
 
I have a Manfrotto 055 ProB, but when I started travelling abroad I used a friends Manfrotto 190ProB as that fit into my case. I then went and bought one myself for subsequent holidays. :) I'm only away for a week though, so weight is not that much of a problem as I'm not carrying around all day, everyday. If I was travelling for longer I would consider a Manfrotto 190Cx which is carbon fibre (two versions to choose from). It is only about 500g difference than the normal aluminium version, but when travelling for so long every gram makes a difference. It is a lot more expensive though. Don't forget that you have to also buy a tripod head as well.
