I'm looking to buy a tripod but don't have a clue which is a good brand to go for!
I obviously want something sturdy which is going to compact down rather small so i can attach it to my lowepro Prorunner 300AW which has a tripod mount on it.

Anyone here that could help me out?
 
Plenty here to help you out but it would be an avantage to know your budget.....
 
I went through this process recently...ended up with a Manfrotto 190xprob with Giotto ball head bought used for a reasonable price. This fits on my Lowpro backpack.

I believe that Redsnapper also make good tripods and are recommended by many on this forum.
 
Benro Travel Angel line would be good, especially the expensive carbon fiber ones.

Looking to spend around the £80 mark prefferably , maybe even something pre-owned!
 
I went for a Giotto MTL9351B linky as it was near on the same basis as the Manfrotto 055/190 series but with a considerable saving....

Looking at Amazon they're £84 atm...

I really like the look of the Redsnapper brand... they seem to be reasonably priced and compact which is what I need.

Will update soon on which one I get :P

Another vote for the Giottos. You get a lot of tripod for your money. I got that along with the RedSnapper RSH-12 ball head....fantastic combo
