Tripod

Can anyone recommend a decent tripod?

I have one but it doesnt support Vertical shots, or is the something I can buy for it so that it becomes compatibles?

If you can change the tripod head, you can buy one that supports portrait shots. Or failing that there RedSnapper tripod (plus either their head or a Manfrotto one) would be a good option, but there are loads of tripod threads if you search.
