OK Guys, I have a basic (very basic) tripod and really fancy one that will be a companion, something light, yet sturdy, legs that can be a contortionist.......and cheap

What sort or price are you thinking of?

I managed to pick up a Manfrotto 190 for about £30 used a couple of years ago on the bay. This is quite a sturdy set of legs for little money.
I wanted something a bit lighter for travel so picked up a used Manfrotto BeFree on here for about £60 about a year ago, so now I have a good couple of tripods.

That's the problem with tripods you can't really have sturdy, light and cheap. Usually you can have two of the three but very rarely all three unless you find an absolute bargain second hand like Silverman. I would have a look for a used manfrotto 190 or 055. A good tripod can be an investment, if you look after it it will last you years.

Theres a couple of Slik 500G tripods on ebay at the moment, not a bad tripod. I think one is buy it now for £20 and free postage.
