Tripods sorted : ) now need monopods.

Hi all

Well we got the tripods sorted [thanks for the advice and links] and are now after two decent monopods

We will be using the Manfrotto MN393 gimbal heads so need a 3/8 type screw for mounting, lenses will be 400mm-500mm so quite a bit of weight.

Will any monopod do or are some better than the others, makes not important as long as it does the job.

imo, You'll need something with a bit of substance to it, e.g. the 4-section Manfrotto 479-4b or 3-section 681b. Both take up to about 10Kg iirc...

I cannot find the Manfrotto 479-4b listed anywhere [even ebay] any idea why?

Out of the two you've mentioned which is the superior, not worried about how small it closes down or anything.
