Hello

I am looking for a tripod to pop my Canon 400D on and I know nothing. I have read a bit around the internet and its still not that clear in my head!

I have a budget of around £150 and am going to use it for landscapes and night time photography (moon and stars).

After reading around on this forum I come across Redsnapper and they look decent and the company seem good from reviews. Is the RS-324 with a RSH12 head suitable for me? I am going to call them tomorrow and have a chat but was wondering if anyone has any experience with them?

Quite a few people have purchased from them & also they are a member of TP as well - if you do a search then there would be quite a few postd regarding Redsnapper :p

If you get the camera bug, you get exited by any acquisition for the Beast.:lol::lol:
 
I am a big fan of Manfrotto tripods too.

You could also look at a 055 or 190 and then chose the head.

My absolute favourite combination is a 055 tripod and 222 head.

You need to consider the head as much as the tripod, there isn't a BEST head but different heads are better for different things. Also a Manfrotto head would fit Redsnapper legs etc too (but getting both from the same company might get you a discount).

I, for example, like the 222 because you stick the camera on it and it is absolutely stable then to move the camera you just squeeze the trigger and move then let go and it is stable again.

You could also look at other makes like Vanguard. This one (http://www.digitaldepot.co.uk/vanguard-alta-223cp-tripod.html) is £180 but is carbon fibre making it very strong and very light! If it is too heavy you will leave it at home and it's no good at all then.
