Tripods

Hi Folks,
I'm new to photograghy but I do own a tripod unfortunatly it has been broken and needs replacing. Funds are limited so could some one recommend a good replacement for sensible money? Can't really spend any more than £50 simply because I don't know how much I will use it and other things are more important at the moment. Your thoughts and advise are greatly received

dale i have the same camera as you and love it im also looking for a tri pod how high does the red snapper one go to ? like cm or ft ? wise ?

Konig heavy-duty tripod - £40 through amazon.

I used a Manfrotto for years but it got lost when someone borrowed it so I just went with the Konig one. Had mine about four years; it's been dropped, banged around, dipped in sea water (when being used as a rod rest) and generally abused. Aside from having to tighten up the odd allen key bolt, it's been fine. The ball head isn't a panning head but for landscapey stuff it's fine. I use mine a lot as a lighting stand for uneven ground or with my 70-200mm + D2x and it supports them fine.

Konig also do a version very similar to the red Snapper ones for £51

Redsnapper are good but they're not cheap.
I've just bought my wife a Velbon Sherpa 450R off the bay, which I'm very impressed with.
I only paid £25 with the head - mind you I've got to source a plate which is going to cost another £10.
