Yes
Wasn't expecting much from this but in the end it turned out to be one of the best days I have had at Brands recently.

More than anything else, the whole programme was a lot of fun, apart from maybe the Formula Woman which I have to say was well, driven like a bunch of girls! (ducks from incoming feminist flak)

The rest was great!

So, headliners first, the trucks! All I will say is that photos or TV footage of these monster really doesn't capture the sheer power or size of these things on the track - its a real spectacle!

Something I've never seen before are the Legends. These things look like some sort of ZZ Top car but are nimble, swift and powered by a large motorbike engine of some sort. Looks like a cheap form of racing and the field is VERY large, which makes it rather crash happy - light contact is allowed in this series!

There were also some what I would call "classic touring car" type things (minis, escorts, sierras etc) but haven't sorted any of those out yet - but they were good fun too, really going for it!

nice pics...

the cars are legend cars using the Yamaha XJR1300 engine....

I like the last one
wouldn't it be easier if they all went the same way round though?:naughty:

Ahhh XJR1300... i thought it might have been the 'busa :D

And yes the Legends was pretty damned good racing to watch - looked really fun to drive!

I think more than anything, because I had low expectations of the day, it was a really nice surprise and made the day really fun! Definitely go next year!

Meant to say, I did contemplate the CPL to make some of those windscreens less reflective, but the light was so damned poor by lunchtime it would have been really dark.

The morning was beautiful, clear blue skys and sun but later on it clouded over, got really cold and miserable - the final truck race wasn't until 4pm and it was almost dark what with the weather and the diesel smoke!

Some fantastic shots there, well done!

I went last year, it was great becuase it was wet, seeing a truck power slide out of Druids is awesome

Ahhh they forgot to put out the sign "one way round the track, no bumping!"

Another administrative cock up :bonk:

Thanks for the comments guys!
