I'm loving my new true macro lens but want to get that little bit closer so I've one question which is, 'has anyone ever tried fitting a Raynox to a true macro lens'?

Just testing my Sigma 105 macro with a Raynox 150. Will post results shortly.

I'll look forward to seeing the results

Not much to take a picture of today only 1 sad cyclamen flower, but it's just to show the result. I used manual mode, manual focus, f11, iso 200, speed 1/250, onboard flash (too lazy to set up with off camera) and I did find that I needed to reduce exposure by a stop when I took a picture of a leaf. I've posted straight out of camera so that you can see exactly how it takes.

I did need to get in very close so if you were using the Raynox 250 it would be even closer, but I think it would be great for close up of insects, flower stamens etc. I was quite pleased though that the onboard flash didn't give any shadow of the adapter.

Not tried a raynox on my macro lens yet, however i do use a full set of extension tubes (Check out my 'flickr' shots. Most of them are taken with a 90mm macro and a full set of tubes). If you want to get REALLY close then tubes are the way to go. Note though, that tubes are going to extend the lens by quite abit so off camera flash is a must.

Tubes can be picked up fairly cheap on ebay.

Tubes are an option but need to sort some proper off camera flash 1st.

Your Macro shots are something else. I seen your ball point pen macro on flickr the other week. Well impressed.
