Trying out new lens

Got my new 50mm lens today so couldn't wait to do her hair just took a couple of pictures. What do ya think?

Good lens. you will enjoy it. With regards to the photo, I think the background detracts a little. Have you done some processing?

Oh yeah. You'll love the 50. Agree with Gary on the background. Get outside, stop it to 1.8 and really blur that background.

Thanks for the comments, didn't really worry about the background just took a couple of shots

When I got the lens I thought is that it? it's tiny, but I'm really pleased with it. This pic was taken at 1/20 f4 iso 200 using my speedlite flash with bounch. Still learning and ready books at the moment. Who would have thought that taking picture could be so complicated

No processing done on the shot apart from compressing to upload.
