Wild Turtle Dove

A Turtle dove from during the early summer months.This bird was one of a pair which visited us in the hide.The perches are natural in the woodland( old broken try branch) so i didn't get a chance to set up perches or i would have picked something with a little more detail but it was my first time seeing these birds so happy for now.

Sadly so rare in the UK now, likely caused by the killing in malta etc...

Never seen one of these in the wild. Plenty of collared Doves up here but none of these beauties of which this picture does it/them real justice.

Not so much the colour but the pattern - they have an amazing plumage.
