I've never tried to shoot planes flying past at 500 mph and I'm pretty chuffed with some of the results. Let me know if you see something I could really do different as I'm usually taking pictures of breathing things!

I wish I could show this to you in full size it's crystal clear.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks Viper. I now want to try my hand at motorsport. These were just with a 200, I'm really pushing hubby for a 400! I've also got a pic with the one inverted directly in back of the one right side up so it just looks like the one plane has landing gear on top and bottom. Funny but not technically the best.

They are very good for a first attempt. One thing that stands out is that in the formation flying the aircraft are overlapping each other. Try and avoid this by ensuring the aircraft are all within their own space. It makes for a more pleasing image. The last one is very close though. As for #2 it is neigh on impossible to capture this maneuver as described as they are fairly level (to crowd perspective) and very close together.

Exposure is close too. Possible 0.6 of a stop under.

Overall a pretty darn fine attempt for the first one.

Thanks. With that in mind I'll go take a look at what else I have. When they are in formation they are supposed to be no more than 18 in. apart so getting each of them separately is nigh on impossible.
