I ended up on wikipedia and stumbled upon this, which looks like a pretty handy exposure guide. I can work most stuff out on manual but this might be able to help me improve, anybody seen this before?

LOL Didn't have time to read it thoroughly, so skim read and spotted this nugget

If you are doing macro work (.25 magnification or greater), always use a tripod. If you're using a format larger than 35mm, use a tripod. To be safe, weld your camera to the tripod.

Genius :D

Just had a glance - there is good stuff in that website.

How about:-

"Night Shots: Don't shoot them at night"

That is lateral thinking.

Use a tripod for sports eh?

Errrr ok, that must be where I am going wrong!

Great find, most of the methods stated are what most of us in the 1950s and 60s had to use as the cameras we ( I ) could afford didn’t have light meters or any automation. The first camera I hade with a meter was the Halina Paulette Electric with a built-in uncoupled selenium meter and a Halinar f/2.8 45 mm. lens and a leaf shutter. On the lens was an EV ring where you input the EV reading from the meter and as long as you kept the value in the ring aperture you could mix and match the shutter and aperture stops. In 1966 it cost £11 19s. 6d. FANTASTIC!!!
