Nikon come PC question :D Ok I helped a neighbour with their little Nikon compact which they treated themselves to. The problem as such is that during the install of the NX2 software I should have been given a choice to check the option so it opens up NX when the camera is plugged in to the PC. Nothing at all, uninstalled and reinstalled again just to double check but that option is not given :thinking: When you plug the camera in to the PC nothing comes up, although going to my computer it shows the named camera attached to the system. Right click this and you can transfer images to pc which it does without a hitch. If you right click on the camera icon there is no Open with / choose program option :shrug: Any ideas would be appreciated. OS Win7 ultimate.

You need Nikon Transfer as well which should open automatically when you plug the camera in.

And if anyone knows how to stop it opening when I plug my ipad in i'd be gratefull!:)

maybe try downloading the latest version of the software from the Nikon site instead of using the install disk that came with the camera?

Ta Paul, :bang: forgot to mention I checked the updates for it, the NX2 is the latest software as far as I Know.

Sorry for asking some obvious questions, but....

1. Does the autorun box come up if you plug in a different device!? If no, no might be worth having a read through this;

2. Was the camera already connected when you installed the software?
3. Are there any usb connection settings in-camera?

Nikon Transfer may be seeing the iPad as a removable disk. Try unticking Removable Disk in the Search For dropdown on the Source tab (click the Options arrow to make Source tab visible).

Thanks, I've just tried that but it doesn't work, even after unticking and re-starting it still opens, and the disk option is re-ticked.
I'll just put up with it, at least Capture NX2 doesn't crash all the time like it did on my old laptop!
