It's amazing any plant can survive this onslaught, they cover the whole stem! Every so often they were doing a kind of mexican wave down the whole row.

Or some ladybirds maybe? No ants to be seen I'm afraid, not sure why, there are plenty elsewhere in the garden. Thanks for comments
