Yes
I have been thinking about adding some essential filters to my camera bag but to be honest, I dont know what I am looking for.

I have the UV filter and a polerizing filter but do I NEED any others?

Rather than say "Yes you need a such and such filter" I would be really grateful if someone could tell me what the filters they recommend actually do.

Cheers

I have...

Set of three HiTech Soft Edge Graduated Neutral Density fiters to even out the exposure between land and sky in landscapes.

Set of three hiTech Neutral Density filters to allow use of slower shutterspeed to smooth movement of water and create motion blur in long grass, clouds, etc.

Next on the shopping list...

Set of three HiTech Hard Edge Graduated Neutral Density fiters as I do a lot of seascapes where there is a definite 'hard edge' between the sea and the sky.

Thats really helpful, cheers.

I guess I would have to chose a filter maker and stick with them for all my filters.

ah, so even getting the 100s won't do if it's the ring causing the vignetting. Is it defo the holder or the ring? If it's the holder then is the 100 designed any different in this respect?

Thanks for the heads up.

I use the biggies... 100mm sounds about right. Use them with Lee holder.
