Underwater shoot

Nope, I guess its quite a speciality market for that kinda thing. Would be cool to own one of those little bags though! I seen some really cool landscapes with half the frame underwater and the rest above, looked amazing and I would love to give that a try!

Yeah I seen a few of them, are the bags dear to buy?

Not cheap is it.

Nope and there's no info about what housings are available and lens ports etc.

Saying that, those Ikelite housings are around £1000 to buy, plus ports. So if it includes the port and they've got a decent selection then it might be worth a look.

Port?

The bit sticking out of the housing that the lens goes into. You can get different shaped ports to suit different lenses - eg a dome port for wide angles.

Not sure how those bags would perform with a wide angle lens, but I'd guess a proper housing is going to give better results.

I seen a few housings, some of the prices are crazy! Theres a cheaper looking one on this link, but I'm not sure I would trust putting my 1d in there :P (Only rated to 5m too)

Yeah, not sure I'd trust those that much. Saying that it would probably be ok in a pool. Ironically though, housings will often leak at the surface not at depth - the increased pressure will coompress the O rings. Not that I'd take those deeper that rated as the camera will be exposed to the water pressure.

I'm looking into getting a housing for my 5D. The Ikelite ones are fairly good value compared to others, but they're ports restrict the diameter of lenses you can use. Subal are nice, but more like £3k. Thats just the housing, then have to add ports whatever system you use, along with strobes at £500+ each!
