Disclaimer: I know he's a bit marmite, this isn't what this post is about.
I keep thinking I should get a ball head to go with my Wimberley Gimbal and this looks like it could do that and even replace it, if even only when I need "both". The design is rather clever with a ball head for levelling then a 2nd that can only move in two planes to ensure you don't loose the level. As a master of the art of a wonky horizon I can certainly see the appeal, and that's before the benefits of being able to level with the head rather than the tripod (I was considering the Gitzo leveling base for this).
Cons seem to be it's not a true "hands off" gimbal. Close, but not there as you can't centre on the vertical axis so front rear tip can happen. 2nd the lens orientation is important so you can't use an L plate without the adaptor (I don't so could just use a square plate). Also it's spendy.
That all said it replaces (potentially) two heads, so maybe it's not that expensive. I still can't bring my self to order one (£407 ish based on current exchange rates) but I really wouldn't mind a go on one, strikes me as they need a trial system like some manufactures have in place.
