Don't use my flickr account much but just went on and a set I took April 2011 at a EMRA bike meeting have for the last 28 days have suddenly been getting between 15 & 40 hits a day from unknown sources:thinking: - thats 100% of views - for this set its a massive jump.
Can't help but think its being linked from somwhere, is there any way I can find out?

I have been wondering lately how mobile device apps such as Flickr's own iPhone app or FlickrStackr identify themselves to Flickr, since they never appear explicitly in the stats.

Could account for a number of these unknown referrers...

Unknown sources can also be attributed to links in emails, text docs or bookmarks people have, as there's no referring page to come from...

I tried TinEye and that returned no matches on any of the photo's, would that show if there was purely a link to the photo?

No it wouldn't but I was thinking they may have put up an image with a link from the Flickr code.

You could also try googling your Flickr link.

That was my first thought but after using TinEye I started to think they are more likely just linked from somewhere. I have tried googling the links but no results.
It does seem strange out of one set of 22 photos there are 12 getting 20 - 40 hits a day and the other 10 none:thinking:
Thanks for all the ideas chaps:thumbs:

Try Google Image search. For me Tin Eye has a 100% record of failing to find a single one of my images, anywhere in 100s searched for whereas Google finds them everywhere.

I have had the same happen on a few occasions, in a couple of cases it turned out to be posts linking to the pic in Forums on member only sites.
