Unlocking the potential of remote flashguns

So I've had a Sony flashgun for some time now, I've played around with it on wireless mode at different strengths etc but my images never come out how I want them to.

Is there any 'dummies' guides out there to using of the camera flash with wireless flashgun(s)?
 
I agree with the Strobist comments. :thumbs:

I've just watched his seminar videos and they are an excellent way of learning. And he is surprisingly easy to watch and not annoying at all, which can often be the case with some instructional videos.

Nice! I just can't justify the cost of the DVDs at the moment.

Strobist is kinda my bible when it comes to all this.
David Hobby is a great photography who is kind enough to share so much knowledge. He has created a cult following, just check out the flickr strobist group and you'll see what I mean!
